It is already the 4th year in a row that our CEO Dorothee Fischer participated as visiting professor in the course „Communicating in an EU-related environment“ organised by the Executive Education, Training & Projects Office of the College of Europe in Bruges.
This year, she had the pleasure of working with an inspiring group of 25 communication professionals from across Europe and Central Asia. Together, they explored my methodology for drafting effective communication strategies—no matter whether the topic is highly technical or entirely new (as is often the case for me when writing strategies for EU Delegations or EU-funded projects in countries Dorothee has never visited before).
It was very rewarding to show participants that these skills can be learned – ideally complemented by an authentic and passionate communication approach including some storytelling elements. 😚
Dorothee also shared a recent case study on crisis communication during the Valencian floods, which highlighted many key aspects such as addressing disinformation, building trust with citizens, engaging the press effectively, and fostering stronger connections with the community.
What makes this course truly special as a trainer each year, is the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning and networking, in particular on our ever-evolving communication landscape, where new tools and trends emerge all the time….
We look forward to seeing how the participants will continue to make an impact in their respective fields!
